Joe McEnnessJoseph McEnness is the Executive Director of the Office of Risk Management for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, Massachusetts, Administrator of the Massachusetts Catholic Self-Insurance Group, Inc., and President of Fides Insurance Group, Inc. Mr. McEnness has more than 35 years in the risk management and insurance field, with previous positions that included Regional Manager of Liability and Risk – Eastern U.S. Region for Budget Rent-a-Car Corporation, Corporate Litigation Claims Group Manager for John Hancock Property and Casualty, several positions with Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Co. In addition to serving as a consultant and mediator in risk management and insurance matters, he has written, lectured, and been a speaker and panelist on risk management, crisis management and strategic communications, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, negotiation, mediation, and litigation management for several organizations including the Liability Insurance Research Bureau, the American Law Firm Association, the Property Insurance Research Bureau, John Hancock Financial Services, the University of Rhode Island and Salve Regina University. Mr. McEnness is a member of the Board of Directors of The National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc., the Blackstone Valley Development Corporation, the Blackstone Valley ARC, the Self-Insurance Group Association of Massachusetts, the International Risk and Insurances Services Group, and is a Fellow of the Council on Litigation Management. He is also a former member of the Property and Liability Research Bureaus’ Eastern Regional Advisory Council and former Chairman of the Education Sub-Committee.
